Re-direct Your Mind and Body with Love

Whether a disease is psychological or physical, its effect on us has to do with some function of the body being mis-directed. Auto-immune disorders, clinical depression and cancer are all examples of a bodily system—the immune system, brain or cells–being improperly directed or governed.

You can change physiological mis-direction with your consciousness when you practice putting it–putting your thoughts, emotions and responses–more consciously under divine Love’s direction and government.

Divine Love’s, infinite Spirit’s, character is utterly kind, orderly and beneficent. And when we make conscious and persistent efforts to embrace and live these qualities, it has a profound governing, healing effect on every bodily function and system.

Today, practice this every hour or two for a couple of minutes. Acknowledge, connect with, and put your feelings under the influence of divine Love’s healing energy. Practice feeling its joy, harmony and satisfaction. This is a way to practice obedience to Love’s government, and this practice heals mind and body.

In Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy summarizes the healing effect of this practice:

“If man is governed by the law of divine Mind, his body is in submission to everlasting Life and Truth and Love.”

Click this link to read the whole passage in her book, and you’ll see that she says the understanding that grows from this practice “…makes the nerves, bones, brain, etc., servants, instead of masters.”

  1. ….having an 'excercise' – form of prayer, to practice every hour or so, is something I never thought of, but is something I will put into practice, as I face a health challenge. I was helped just by reading your posting. Thanks. I will be in touch……
