For decades, medical scientists have been experimenting with what happens when the mind associates a harmless sensory concoction – a colorful, aromatic drink, for example — with a medication, by repetitively taking them at the same time.
It has come into focus more recently that after a few weeks of these repetitions for some medications, the body will start to replicate the effects of the medication whenever the individual drinks the concoction – even if the drug has been greatly reduced. (”You Can Train Your Body into Thinking It’s had Medicine“, by Jo Marchant)
It’s one of many researched phenomena that reveal how much a constructive mind can do for the body. I’ve found that one of the most constructive things my mind can do for my body, is to learn about, develop and especially to practice a more authentic relationship with infinite Spirit — the universal, loving, all-intelligent, all-constructive divine Mind, Who is experiencing each of us in far more expansive, beautiful, loving and healthy ways than we typically think of ourselves (or others).
The amazing possibilities of Spirit-mind-body relationships were researched, analyzed, practiced and written about by Mary Baker Eddy. Her major work, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, is a summary of the theory and practice of her findings.
She wrote,
Thought imbued with purity, Truth, and Love, instructed in the Science of metaphysical healing, is the most potent and desirable remedial agent on the earth. (Miscellaneous Writings, p 4)
Mortal mind is the worst foe of the body, while divine Mind is its best friend. (Science and Health, p 176)
True dat.
We want to say thnx you 4 making this great blog and keep up the good job!
