You’ve been created to be continuously blessed.

Blessing means: to regard with great favor, to make happy or satisfied, to confer prosperity upon. It goes back to the nature of Spirit Himself/Herself as utterly good, abundant and embracingly kind.

It also goes back to your true self, your inner spiritual selfhood that Spirit sees and knows, every moment. Having created this self of yours after His own likeness, Spirit is relating to you AS this spiritual self right now. So He is relating to you with blessing—communicating to you His delight, love, value and empowerment, with open-handed abundance.

So the trick is to relate to God in a way that aligns with the way He’s already relating to you!

Try making this a spiritual practice today. At least five times, take a couple of minutes to acknowledge your relationship with Spirit and the way Spirit is relating to you with blessing. Allow yourself, encourage yourself, to feel the well-being and blessing of this active, vital relationship that you have with the infinite.

This practice could be called “leaning on the sustaining infinite.” In her book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, Mary Baker Eddy links this practice to the blessings you’re entitled to today:
